Have It / Need It 8

These boots were the beginning of my love affair with boots: the perfect winter shoe, unique and stylish enough to make any outfit chic. I got these boots as an early Christmas present in my first year of college, making them about five years old now, and I still get complements almost every time I wear them. My attraction to utterly unique boots–and equation of “sleek” with “plain”–is probably directly related to the positive feedback I’ve received on this pair. The neutral tone and blend of feminine ruffles and distressed leather means these boots work with pretty much any clothing you can think of, and every year I look forward to the weather getting cold enough to put them on.

Have It / Need It: Ruffle Boots

The weather in California is just barely getting cold enough for fall apparel, but when the rest of the country is bragging about their coats and scarves it’s hard not to embrace winter weather at the cost of comfort. Since wool and winter are more or less synonymous, Beatrice Alemagna’s sheep illustration seemed like the perfect outfit inspiration for the first week of November. I love the funky purse–I’m not sure I’d have the guts to accessorize with hard-core sheepskin and red leather myself, but whoever does has some seriously enviable style.
