I’m not always a huge fan of abstract artwork, but Britt Bass’s paintings are a clear exception. It’s not just the colors, although her palettes are consistently to die for, but her especially unique style: painterly, but in a playful and modern way that doesn’t look nitpick-y or overworked. One of the most popular prints from her Spring ’14 collection is Pinky, and it’s easy to see why–the bright composition reminiscent of confetti and party streamers has all the cheerfulness you could ask from springtime, plus more. Perfect for inspiring this week’s outfit–the first official spring outfit I’ve done now that it’s past the equinox–right?
I’m head over heels for those socks–too bad they’re $27 a pair. I haven’t seen anyone do socks with a d’Orsay flat yet, but I think it could work–am I right? Way off base? What do you think?
