You probably can guess that I’m a homebody (isn’t that the blogger stereotype, after all?) with not much of a taste for raucous parties or crowded events. A casual night in is my idea of the best way to welcome 2014–because as much as I like to think I’d enjoy throwing a Gatsby-themed party, we all know I’m only interested in the decorations and stationery (like the bubbly gilded polka dot pattern that inspired this week’s outfit). Obviously, though, my disinterest in NYE doesn’t extend to the night’s acceptance of excessive sequins and glitz. All the sequined sweatpants on the market this year have me thinking retailers are finally acknowledging those of us who like our NYE sparkle served up with movie marathons and gourmet ice cream instead of cocktails and club music.
