Wearable Design looks a little different this week, and I’m so pleased with the makeover! As I grow more fond of creating designs that incorporate illustration and watercolor, I want Striped Cat Studio to move in a direction that reflects that new style, and re-thinking the way I present Wearable Design is a good step in that direction. I’d love to hear what you think!
The design: a modern-meets-summer-camp invitation suite by Hello Gem. The clean white typography combined with southwest imagery perfectly represents the Palm Desert wedding for which the suite was designed. As much as I hate the heat (does anyone else out there sweat way too easily?!) I love a dessert landscape–it’s so different from what I say on a daily basis, and perhaps that’s why I find it so inspiring!
The translation: a chic, outdoorsy outfit perfect for “glamping.” Sure, embroidered boots and patterned skinnies may not be practical in desert heat, but impracticality seems like the right direction to take for anyone heading out on a glam camping trip. If this was what people really wore camping, I might rethink my distaste for the vacay choice!
